Kabir's new romantic thriller Monopoly.The Game of Money, in which he is playing the lead, was already announced as an Indian-Canadian project by www.kabir-bedi.com on February 10, 2006. Nileish Malhotra told EyeTV India that Monopoly is a fast-moving romantic thriller filmed in a new style. The film is about deceit and competition, and should appeal to an international audience because of its slick appearance. Some of Kabir's Indian and Canadian co-stars were signed on in recent months, including Vivek Shauq. As previously reported, 90 percent of the shooting will take part in Canada, and the rest in India. The film is scheduled to be released in 2007. It is the first joint venture of Indian company Malhotra Productions and Canada's Elegant Films Ltd, and is being produced by Nileish Malhotra, Jatinder Minhas, Ramesh Mehta and Manjeet Bhatt. Co-producer/director Malhotra is also known as an actor, appearing in films including Mohini Virendra's Ek Bhool (1985), and played one of the two evil Indian thugs in Nicholas Meyer's adventure movie The Deceivers (1988, with Pierce Brosnan in the lead). Malhotra starred in a lead role in Door Door Paas Paas (1987) and played a negative part in Police Station (1997). Malhotra played Mr. Dhillon in The Gold Bracelet (2005), a film by Kavi Raz about the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. |
