| SUMMARY |
|
Frank "Buck" James,
a talented surgeon, is the widely respected trauma department
head of the Holloman Hospital in Texas.
With his copious amounts of common sense, and the laconic and competent
way he solves any problem thrown his way, he is much liked by his
patients and the hospital management alike.
Buck James spices up his day bantering with hospital administrator
Henry Carliner - a pen-pusher whose heart is nevertheless in the
right place - and the new, attractive doctor Rebecca, who is from
the east coast.
But when Buck James puts down his surgeon's mask, dons his Stetson,
and heads off home to his prairie ranch, his private life is far
from smooth.
Buck's wife Jenny has walked out on her workaholic husband, who had
too little time to spare for her, but deep down she is still in love
with him.
Daughter Dinah, 22, returns to the family fold, very much
pregnant and very much unmarried.
Her brother Clint works on the
family ranch, but is unhappy and rarely sees his dad, who is always
working.
It comes as no surprise that the kind and wise ranch foreman Vittorio becomes a
subsitute father to the 19-year-old.
The episode where Kabir is a guest star
is mostly about Buck's patient, Mr. Geocaris, who is admitted to
the clinic with severe heart problems.
Only a potentially fatal operation can save him, but he refuses to
give permission to his doctors.
Mr. Geocaris has a disabled daughter (Down syndrome), and who will
look after her if something happens to him?
Heart specialist Kabir is consulted and has to take the dangerous
decision over life and death... |

part |

Kabir guest-stars
in the hospital soap - as an Indian heart specialist! His character
is called Dr. Sanjay Resta. |

|
| Kabir's
showstopper |
|
Kabir only appears in a single episode
of the short series.
He only has a few short scenes as the heart surgeon who is asked
to advise on a gravely ill patient that can only be saved by a
very dangerous operation.
Dressed in immaculate hospital whites, Kabir would not look amiss
in any emergency room.
After all, Kabir really is a heart specialist of sorts! |
