Father was officially screened in January 2005 in the Information
Ministry of Malaysia, with VIPs of the Malaysian ministry present.
The Director General Head of Information Ministry of Malaysia highly
appreciated the producer-director Baldev Singh for his good quality
work.
At the same occasion, lead actor Kabir
Bedi had a live teleconference
from Dubai with the Ministry of Malaysia to brief
them on the film.

the fiddle in Father! • Kabir
on working with local actors
in Father:
- "I studied the script and worked around the expression first. Then I got
into the rhythm of speaking 'Malay English'. Getting into the rhythm was quite
easy after watching people around me talking. After a while it sounded very organic
and I kind of like it."
• Kabir said in an
interview that he likes the plot of Father very much and the Malaysian cast members
who exude great spirit and enthusiasm:
- "It's a good plot. More often when viewers like the story, they will like
the film. Hopefully, this will be true for this drama. There is often an air
of excitement on the set and it's very heart-warming to watch them try to give
their best."

• Baldev
Singh was the cinematographer of Kabir's success
movie NAGIN (1976). • Baldev Singh spent many years
in India, working as a movie director and also as a stuntman.
He still is nursing a serious injury which he sustained
while doing a motorcycle stunt in India. • Only child Jasminder Kaur Chahal is
often called "Jessy" and was born in
Kelana Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. She was about 22 years
old when the movie Father was made.
• Jasminder Kaur Chahal was crowned Miss
