Bedi has known
Mickey Nivelli as a producer since the
beginning of his career, when Nivelli (then known as Mickey
'Harbance/Harbans' Kumar) produced/directed
Kabir's movie
Maa Bahen Aur Biwi.

Kabir Bedi worked
with Mickey
Nivelli also in 1982. He
directed and produced Kabir's only
West Indies film, GIRL
FROM INDIA - which had a social/political theme-
and also shot the companion movie, Man from Africa.
• Kabir Bedi worked
with Mickey Nivelli again in KHOYA
BACHPAN MILA PYAR (a Hindi version of Plots With A View)
• Around 1960 Mickey Nivelli served
as Sunil Dutt's manager, they were partners in a Mumbai distribution
venture and made a short ad film together.

Mickey Nivelli currently lives in New York, but the producer,
script writer and director is known in the international
movie industry under his previous name, Mickey 'Harbance'
Kumar.
•
Mickey Nivelli/Harbance Kumar is from Mumbai and has pioneered
the movie industry of the West Indies. In 1970, he shot a
political drama, The Right and the Wrong, which is about
the struggle against colonialism.
•
Mickey Nivelli wrote the epic bestseller Echoes of Love from
Heavens Above, based on the true life story of Lotte Sommers.
The production company Distant Horizons won the movie rights
in February 2003. The prime minister of Guyana and other
politicians praised Nivelli's book because it tells a story
of love overcoming racial and religious barriers.
• Prema Narayan is
also Kabir Bedi's co-star
in his films MANZILEIN
AUR BHI HAIN and NAGIN.
• Jankidas (1910-2003) is Kabir's co-star
also in YAUWAN and ISHQ
ISHQ ISHQ.
• Singer/comedienne Tun Tun appeared
with Kabir in
many other films apart from Maa Bahen Aur Biwi, including KUCHHE
DHAAGE (1973), KANOON
KA SHIKAR (1979), HULCHUL (1971)
and NAGIN (1976).
• Tun Tun's real name was Uma Devi Khatri.
• Tun Tun was a famous and much-beloved comedienne and
singer. She died at the age of 75 in Mumbai on November 24, 2003.
• Tun Tun came to Mumbai to become a singer and recorded
her first screen song in 1947.
• Naushad, one of India's most famous film music composers, discovered Tun
Tun. Together with director A.R. Kadar, they became a regular movie
hit factory.
Naushad also composed the music for Kabir's film TAJ
MAHAL.AN ETERNAL LOVE STORY (2005).
• Composer Naushad also recognised the singer's talent for comedy timing,
and produced the first movie with Tun Tun in a comic role in 1950.
• Big-eyed comedienne Tun Tun played in over 100 films. |
